Accounts & Admin Assistant - Halifax

Primary Duties:

The Accounts & Administrative Assistant will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial health of our company while ensuring efficient administrative processes. This multifaceted role requires a candidate with strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in accounting software.

Specific Duties:

  • Handle day-to-day accounting tasks, including invoicing, accounts payable, and receivables

  • Reconcile bank statements and ensure accuracy in financial records

  • Prepare financial reports and summaries for management review

  • Assist in general administrative tasks, including document management, filing, and data entry.

  • Processing employee expense and payroll reports 

  • Providing support to the Accounting & Administrative Manager

  • Other accounting support duties as required

 

Qualifications & Attributes:

  • Proven experience in accounting and administrative roles

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • High level of organization and time management skills 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites and Microsoft Windows software

  • Ability to remain flexible and adaptable in an ever-changing environment

  • Desire to be proactive and create a positive experience for others.

  • A diploma or degree in an accounting field or equivalent with a minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience. An acceptable combination of education and experience in a relevant position.

 

Employment Specifics

  • Permanent full-time (80%) position

  • 23$ per hour

  • 30 hours per week, Monday-Thursday in office  

  • The successful candidate will be expected to provide a clear vulnerable sector search and child abuse registry check
