Clinical Director - Halifax

The Position:

The Clinical Director is a senior leadership level position that provides ongoing direction and oversight to all of Shift’s residential treatment and care programs ensuring the highest level of quality, compliance, and outcomes. The Clinical Director will also work collaboratively with the entire leadership team for program growth and strategic planning. The Clinical Director is an ambassador of the organization and will fulfill their duties while embodying Shift’s values.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Annual salary range of $85,000 - $90,000
  • Comprehensive health insurance

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree (minimum) in a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior leadership position in human services.
  • Demonstrated experience in working collaboratively, in a leadership position, with contracting and regulatory agencies.
  • Experience working from a trauma-informed approach considered an asset.
  • Experience working with Indigenous communities considered an asset.
  • Experience working with youth considered an asset.
  • Must be willing and able to travel domestically.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain clinical direction and oversight over Shift’s portfolio of specialized care services.
  • Lead pro-active and regular communication with contracting and regulatory agencies.
  • Provide leadership and constant collaboration to the team members with an emphasis on planning, coaching, collaborative problem-solving, empowerment, and assisting the team in meeting organizational objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with all contractual requirements, provincial laws, federal laws, and accreditation standards.
  • Ensure services are provided in a culturally responsive manner, are inclusive of families and other significant parties, are evidence-based, and best-practice oriented.
  • Develop systems to help ensure a high degree of accountability and an appropriate continuum of care across programs.
  • In a data-driven, objective manner, assess program functioning and outcomes and troubleshoot identified challenges.
  • Evaluate and make recommendations toward actions that ensure programs meet and exceed Shift’s standards for service.
  • Monitor statistics and make changes as a result to improve program outcomes.
  • Actively participate in strategic planning and assist the organization in the growth of programs and services.
  • Represent Shift at various meetings and events to promote services.
