Youth Program Facilitator

Primary Duties:

Working as part of a collaborative and interdisciplinary team, the Youth Program Facilitator will work to facilitate amazing leadership and teambuilding styled programs to children and youth in the Halifax Regional Municipality.

Specific Duties:

  • Facilitate interactive leadership development programs to groups of up to 45.
  • Plan and coordinate recreational, experiential and outdoor group programs.
  • Participate in initiatives designed to increase volume of programs delivered.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in recreation or a related discipline.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work well independently.
  • Energy, enthusiasm and a genuine desire to improve the well-being of young people.
  • Experience programming in recreation environments with a diverse base of programming knowledge on which to draw from.
  • Experience with facilitation of experiential learning workshops.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.

Employment Specifics

  • 8:30-4:30, Monday-Thursday in office.
  • A valid driver’s license and daily access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Travel throughout HRM required for facilitations.
  • Current CPR, First Aid certifications preferred.
  • The successful candidate will be expected to provide a clear vulnerable sector and criminal reference checks.
